One of the missions of Artaxis is to help promote the professional pursuits of the artists within the Artaxis community. We see this website as a direct conduit between viewer and artist, exposing artists to the thousands of page views from around the world that Artaxis.org receives each day. That exposure leads to increased traffic on our members’ own websites, as well as opportunities such as exhibitions, workshops, artist lectures, and other professional opportunities. Beyond the website, Artaxis uses several social networking platforms to further promote the artists in a viral dissemination of their artistic endeavors.
How it Works: Prospective members of Artaxis are juried by current members of this site. Each application is carefully reviewed by seven randomly selected jurors. The process rotates between the jurors and is completely anonymous; there is no contact between the members of the jury and/or the candidate. There is a $20 non-refundable application fee. If you are a Studio Potter member, you are eligible for a discounted application fee of $15.
