Artist Statement
My ceramic work is driven by my passion for the potters wheel. A hump of clay on the wheel and the interaction of movement and hand results into a form.
I use a monoprint technique to burn fotos into the clay. I then paint and draw with engobes, oxides, grafit-and oil Pencils to interpret form and image balancing between figuration and abstaction. By illustrating human bodies I question and experiement with stereotypes of masculinity and femininity.Their is no routine. Each peace is a new challenge.
Bio
Anna Heike Grüneke lives and works in Berlin (Germany) and Blütlingen/Wustrow. She studied Art in Rome(academia di belle Arti) and Paris(beaux arts) and took her degree in Fine Art and Art-Therapy at the UDK in Berlin.Since 2010 she works with clay mainly on the potterswheel. Her experience in painting, drawing, printing-techniques and fotografie are an important influence on her ceramic work. She exibits her work in Galleries, Art-fairs (Neue Art Dresden) und in Museums (Museum Wustrow)
