The Car Show is a contemporary ceramic group exhibition, curated by Micah Lewis-Văn Sweezie, that pays homage to Detroit’s legacy as the hub of the American automotive industry. Presented in Motor City during NCECA’s 60th annual conference, this exhibition will showcase various invited artists, as well as artists from an open call to engage with automotive history in the city that led it. The exhibited works explore the automobile as both object and symbol, using clay to critically dissect elements from the volumes of automotive culture, history, and industrial significance.
