The Hartford Art School Ceramics Department is seeking to hire a full-time ceramics technician, to work closely with full time faculty Matt Towers and Stephanie Lanter at the University of Hartford in Connecticut. Salary commensurate with experience, plus health and retirement benefits and full access to studio, equipment and materials.
Priority given to applications received by May 1, 2024 with an anticipated start date of June 15. MFA in Ceramics plus 2 years experience in the field preferred.
Facilities include: Fully stocked, newly renovated glaze lab & clay materials loft; 28 Brent Wheels; Clay mixing room with 3 Soldner mixers; Pug mill; Spray booth; Photography lighting & backdrop setup; Separate plaster/mold making area; Indoor kiln room: 2 Bailey gas kilns, including a car kiln; 10 electric kilns, various sizes; Outdoor kiln pad: Raku kiln, Soda kiln; 2-chamber wood kiln.
