Aisha Chantal Bryant
Primarily interested in drowning her Western references in saturated post-colonialist imagery, Aisha Chantal Bryant (she/her) appropriates the forms of French porcelain vessels as the starting point of her ceramic sculptures. Bryant is a multidisciplinary artist born in Washington, D.C. in 1994. She received her BFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 2017. From 2018-2020 she attended the Post-Baccalaureate program at the University of Arkansas within the Ceramics department. While there she organized the student group show “ButterMeUp” at the sUgAR gallery. Her group exhibitions include “Gift Edit: Contemporary Ceramics” at Galleri Urbane in Dallas, TX and the 2020 NCECA Juried Student Exhibition in Richmond, VA. Bryant currently lives and works in Maryland.
