Responsibilities
Teach 3 studio undergraduate classes per semester, supervise and manage ceramics facilities and tech support staff, serve on school wide committees, and participate in curriculum development and student assessment.
Required Qualifications:
MFA in Studio Art or equivalent, possess the ability to teach all phases of ceramics, have an understanding of new technologies and 3D modeling as it relates to the field, and active research/creative practice and substantial contribute to the contemporary discourse on Art and Ceramics.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years teaching experience beyond graduate school.
The ceramics program at the Myers School of Art has a well equipped studio and offers students a comprehensive, forward-thinking undergraduate education, while also preparing students for professional work as visual artists, practitioners in the field, and graduate studies.
The Myers School of Art has 19 full-time faculty members with about the same number of part-time faculty members. We also have seven full-time staff professionals, including a dedicated adviser to assist our students. Our faculty members are professional practicing artists/designers/historians, in addition to serving students as educators. We are engaged in the world of art and design nationally and internationally, and share our expertise with students at the highest and most current levels.
