We are searching for a ceramic artist to fill a number of teaching positions between Reedley College and the College of the Sequoias for the Fall 2016 semester. The two colleges while separate are coordinating their openings to offer a unique opportunity for a qualified individual to teach 2 courses at each college. The teaching load would total 4 courses. The courses would include Wheel Throwing, Hand Building, a mixed course that covers both Wheel and Hand Building as well as one lecture course in Art Appreciation. This unique opportunity would allow a full load schedule for a highly motivated individual. Applicants must have demonstrate a command of wheel throwing and hand building techniques.
Both Colleges are located in the Central Valley of California. Reedley College is located in Reedley while the College of the Sequoias (COS) is located in Visalia and are separated by a 30 minute drive. The Central San Joaquin Valley is located about 3 hours north of Los Angeles and 3 hours south of the San Fransisco Bay. Boasting rich agricultural heritage and seated at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, the area provides a mix or rural and metropolitan opportunities and landscapes.
