Visiting Teaching/Artist in Residence, Ceramics – University of Denver

May 2, 2019 by Submission Form

Position Summary

The School of Art and Art History at The University of Denver invites applications for a six-month Visiting Teaching/Artist in Residence in Ceramics, beginning January 2020, through June 2020. The ceramics studio is a spacious, state of the art facility and includes a full complement of ceramics tools and equipment. The ceramics studio has 3 electric kilns and 2 test kilns, a 24-cu ft gas Blaauw kiln, a soda and a raku kiln. In the ceramics area, there are glaze making facilities, wheels, 2 pug mills, a CNC machine and two ceramic 3d-printers (JK delta style). Additionally, there is access to plastic 3d-printers, a 4 x 8 CNC mill, laser cutter and wood shop at DUs Innovation Floor in the School of Engineering. The ceramics professor, Mia Mulvey, will be present but will be on sabbatical working on her own research. Materials and supplies (excluding firing fees) are the responsibility of the artist as well as housing in Denver. The expectation is that the bulk of the time is spent in residence at DU and travel is kept to a minimum.
