Artist Statement

My inspiration is drawn from an eclectic range of diverse influences ranging from nature, architecture, decorative wrought iron gates and fences but also the botanical studies of the German photographer, Karl Blossfeldt (1865-1932) and the temporary sculptures of Andy Goldsworthy.

The curves and lines in my ceramic pieces exist by combining handmade single ornaments in a way they become geometrical patterns. The bright color is a high oxide engobe and enhance the shapes and shadows while forming an almost never-ending line. The objects are transparent and playful, whilst maintaining their monumental character.
