Artaxis has a partnership with the National K-12 Ceramic Exhibition hosted at the NCECA conference. Each year, we award one young artist in the exhibition with the Artaxis Award for Excellence, which includes a $100 award and an original artwork made by an Artaxis member.
We are thrilled to announce this year’s recipient of the K-12 Artaxis Award for Excellence, Maya Lokhin! Maya is a 3rd grader from Village Center for the Arts in New Milford, CT. Her instructor is Sharon Kaufman.
Maya’s work, “The Purrrrfect Tea Party”, immediately won over our selection committee and brought us many smiles as we investigated this great work more closely. We send a big congratulations to Maya and her teacher, Sharon. Congrats to all!
If you are at the NCECA conference in Sacramento, please stop by the K-12 exhibition and check out Maya’s work in person. We hope you enjoy this work as much as we do!
