Time, a collaborative exhibit by Blair Clemo and Jason Hackett is on display in the Geoffrey A. Wolpert Gallery from September 11 through November 7, 2015. The exhibit showcases an array of utilitarian and sculptural ceramic works measuring time through developed surfaces, symbolic image, and historic and geologic form. Physical characteristics of the works reflect time by the labors that go into making them, the history they appropriate, and the forms they result in. Delicate development of surface ornamentation and the tedious making of amassed quantities of pottery indicate very real but different quantifiers of time. Utilitarian and sculptural works, both unique/decorative and generic/ordinary speak to these ideas.
