In pursuit of its mission to achieve equality for women and girls, now and for generations to come, WGF breaks down barriers so that every girl can rise and every woman can soar. 100% of the sales from the cash-and-carry event has gone directly to this incredible organization. NASTY WOMEN, an exhibition sponsored by Artaxis and organized by Alex Kraft and Sara Parent-Ramos, was the juried winner of an internal call for Artaxis members to propose an exhibition that addresses NCECA’s 2018 exhibition theme: “Cross Currents: Clay and Culture.” In response to current events, Artaxis and the show organizers believe that now is the time to cultivate empathetic communities, and promote innovative approaches to ceramic art that express diverse and underrepresented experiences within our changing society.
Artaxis hopes to continue working on behalf of important organizations like the Women and Girls Foundation and to create opportunities in which art and artists can help improve the quality of life for people around the world and in our own neighborhoods.
We would like to thank everyone involved in this project, especially all the artists who donated, and those who donated anonymously:
