Artist Statement

Why is it that when you look up “small” in the thesaurus, words like meager, inadequate, inconsequential, and trivial come up. Much like how these words are comprised of letters, and my hands typing them are made up of muscles, tissues, and cells, they all rely on each other, as does the microscopic life that we cannot see that keeps a balance in the world. I am eager to draw attention to the beauty and complexity present in the overlooked and unseen. Whether from what lives under the sidewalks we walk or the flora on our skin, does the overlooked hold answers to the questions we ask?
