Artist Statement

There is a powerful alchemy that happens when wood fire and salt interact with clay. Wood firing and salt glazing provides an opportunity for the kiln to contribute to the creative dance between maker, material and process.

The resulting action and movement gives us a rich visual vocabulary that stands witness to natures dynamic forces, weaving ancient earth memory into the story of making and firing. Each piece tells the unique story of its becoming.
