Description:
- Teach three fine art ceramics, sculpture or foundations courses per semester
- Maintain the ceramic and sculpture studios
- Contribute to and develop courses within the 3D and Intermedia Concentration as part of the BFA in Studio Art.
- Ability to teach introductory hand-building and wheel throwing,
- Ability to teach either upper level hand-building and wheel throwing techniques, mold making, decal application along with alternative practices in clay.
- Knowledge of clay and glaze calculation
- Ability to lift and move forty pounds
- Ability to load and fire both glass and ceramic kilns
- Provide service via committee work for the college
- Provides academic advising for up to 25 art and design majors
- Maintain regular office hours
- Pursue scholarly personal work
Qualifications:
- An M.F.A in Ceramics or emphasis in Clay Sculpture (required)
- Three years full-time college level teaching experience
- A willingness and ability to teach all levels of Ceramics, Foundations (3D Design), Beginning Drawing and/or Beginning Sculpture
- Evidence of Active Exhibition and Publication Record
