Artist Statement
Bio
Trained as an illustrator, Taylor began sculpting after a serendipitous encounter with a stockpile of clay while teaching at a charter school in Colorado. This led her back to New York to pursue an MFA in Ceramics at Alfred University. What followed was an eight year journey as a resident artist across the USA, China, Denmark, Mexico, and Lebanon.
Working within different cultural contexts, studio environments and resources led to her current practice- exploring the universality of animal forms and our shared intelligence. Taylor’s work is shown internationally and collected in over 25 countries.
She currently works from her studio in Sonoma, California.
