In the Kitchen is an exhibit that highlights sculptural and functional pieces that are used in the kitchen, including utensils, butter dishes, storage containers and more. Sculptural work is open to interpretation but could be trompe l’oeil or narrative, and open to ceramics with mixed media components.
The preparation of meals, beverages, and culinary delights are part of our daily rituals. The tools we use when preparing, storing and presenting foods are integral to the experience we enjoy and provide for others when we dine. From the ceremonious to the mundane this exhibition explores the norms in the kitchen.
