The 2026 Artaxis National Juried Ceramics Exhibition opens at the Mulvane Art Museum on Tuesday, October 27. That same day, Artaxis members (and two of this year’s jurors) Tyler Quintin and Kyla Strid will lead a ceramics workshop in the Ceramics Studio at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.
Tyler and Kyla will demonstrate their unique approaches to contemporary ceramics and talk about the skills, techniques, and thinking behind their studio work. Tyler is a long-term Artist in Residence at Red Lodge Clay Center and a 2016 Washburn BFA graduate, so this is a homecoming of sorts. Kyla is a potter, teaching artist, and Program Officer at Mid-America Arts Alliance whose functional pots draw on ancient Minoan forms and the plants in her own backyard.
Schedule – Tuesday, October 27
