Artist Statement

“Exploratory work is intellectually seductive, provokes new understandings and triggers fresh critical strategies” (JO DAHN New Directions in ceramics)

I am conscious of the repetitive action in my making, of not knowing what I am trying to achieve, teaching my body to move in a certain way, working and responding to the reality of what is happening in front of me. This is how my pieces emerge into being. Trusting in the process without too much concern with the outcome, this playful approach leads to curiosity and intrigue.
