We walk through our day passing beautiful things without notice. Beauty is in all things; with the right light and arrangement that beauty can be brought into focus. A sense of wonderment and awe can be formed, turning the otherwise overlooked into a mesmerizing experience.
I’m inspired greatly by everyday objects: the chair, the cup, and the mud puddle that forms at the end of the driveway. For some reason I was born with the impulse to build, spending countless amounts of time considering how materials come together. How are they formed, what’s their purpose, all things that affect the human condition and our relationship to the objects.
Through craft, material and process I am able to form an understanding and become closer to the inspiration. Perhaps this gives me the license to recreate, alter and invent objects in the studio.
