The upcoming 1st International Ceramics Sculpture Triennale Poland (ICST) is an open international competition for artists from around the world who create in the medium of ceramics. This initiative is the only and very first event of this kind in Poland. The Triennale is held by the International Ceramic Sculpture Triennale Association and by The Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
Submissions are open until February 28, 2025. Applications can be submitted via the application form available on the website.
The selection procedure will take place in 2 stages:
a. Stage 1 – Selection of Participants. The jury will evaluate the entries on the basis of the submissions and select the works to be presented at the ICST exhibition. The results of the selection will be announced on the ICST website by 31st March 2025. Shortlisted Participants will also be notified by email.
b. Stage 2 – Selection of the winners. ICST winners will be selected prior to the opening of the exhibition by a closed vote of the Jury. The Jury has the right to review the decisions made during the first session and to exclude works that do not meet its objectives. The winners will be announced at the exhibition launch ceremony. The award ceremony will take place during the exhibition-closing event.

1 FEBRUARY 2024 – announcement of the Competition
SEPTEMBER 1 – FEBRUARY 28, 2025 – call for entries
until MARCH 31, 2025 – announcement of shortlisted entries
until JUNE 6, 2025 – works delivery
JUNE 26 – OCTOBER 26, 2025 – competition exhibition
until NOVEMBER 28, 2025 – collection of the works
The organizer provides the following prizes:
– Grand prix 40,000 PLN
– 1st Prize 25,000 PLN
– 2nd Prize 15,000 PLN
– 3rd Prize 10,000 PLN
– Honourable Mentions

The establishment of the ICST is a response to the needs and aspirations of the ceramic artistic community, it is also a step towards fulfilling the expectations of the art audience. The central event of the MTRC is the international exhibition of the shortlisted participants and the selection of the Competition Winners by the International Jury. The aim of the Competition is to provide an overview of European and worldwide ceramic sculpture, to present current trends and endeavours in contemporary artistic ceramics as well as to elevate the significance and potential of ceramic matter.
