Vanessa Anastasopoulou

Artist Statement

The cycle of life, from conception to birth, blossoming to fallowing, leading to death – and once again – is the primary subject that keeps coming back in my practice through different forms.

Each time new and old fragments (re)appear forming a picture of the world, how we perceive it, connect with it, connect with others.

Art is an antidote to brutality, cartographing the antithesis of our nature, transforming thoughts and feelings into objects.

Acts as vehicle, turning realities outside everyday experience, into images of beings and worlds beyond nature, striving to embrace them through alternative paths.
