A custom red earthenware clay, simple slips and underglazes, and a limited glaze palette allow my pots to be distilled down to the essential. Form is the focus, but texture banding, and brushwork complete the pot.
I am endlessly fascinated by the physical sensation of throwing, cutting, trimming, or handling a clay pot. The surprise of creating a form with a silhouette that pulses with energy never diminishes. These pots serve as a journal of my inspirations and influences. I endeavor to make pots that are completed by becoming part of someone’s life.
